Dyslexia guidance
Dyslexia screening
Indiana law requires school corporations to screen students for characteristics of dyslexia. SCSD2 screens all students in Kindergarten through grade 2. Students who show characteristics of dyslexia receive targeted instructional support.
Support & intervention
Students identified with dyslexia characteristics receive evidence-based, structured literacy instruction. Supports may be provided through general education, special education, or a combination of both, depending on the student's needs.
Resources for families
If you have concerns about your child's reading development, contact your school's principal or reading specialist. Additional resources are available through the Indiana Department of Education.
