"Every student can learn — our job is to remove the barriers that stand in their way."

Services range from support within the general education classroom to self-contained specialized programs — always determined by each student's unique needs, as documented in their IEP. SCSD2 is required by Indiana Department of Education to provide services according to Indiana Special Education Law Article 7.

The Evaluation & IEP Process

01

Request an Evaluation

Contact your school or the OES office to request an evaluation. SCSD2 has 50 school days to complete the evaluation.

02

Evaluation Completed

A team of specialists evaluates your child across all areas of suspected disability. Results are shared at a case conference.

03

Case Conference Committee

Parents, teachers, and specialists meet to review evaluation results, determine eligibility, and develop an IEP if the student qualifies.

04

IEP Developed & Implemented

The IEP outlines present levels, annual goals, services, and placement. It is reviewed at least annually and you are a full member of the team.
