2025 PreK Enrollment

Welcome to Scott County School District 2! We offer high-quality (Level 3 Paths to Quality) PreK programming in each elementary school!

OUR PROGRAM

SCSD2 On My Way PreK is a full-day program (7:45-3:00). A typical day in preschool consists of small and large group instruction, free play (at least ⅓ of the school day), gross motor activities, rest time, and social-emotional learning. All of our classrooms are licensed and Paths to Quality Level 3 certified. Paths to Quality is Indiana’s voluntary child care rating and improvement system, Paths to QUALITY™, which means we are committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and professional environment where children grow and learn.

ELIGIBILITY

To enroll in the 4-year-old program, a child must turn four by August 1, 2025.

To enroll in the 3-year-old program, a child must have an identified special need that qualifies for an individualized education plan and must turn three prior to enrolling.

ENROLLMENT

SCSD2 PreK enrollment will take place at school sites.

Tuesday, April 1, 2025  4-7 PM Johnson Elementary

Tuesday, April 1, 2025  4-7 PM Scottsburg Elementary

Thursday, April 3, 2025  4-7 PM Lexington Elementary

Thursday, April 3, 2025  4-7 PM Vienna-Finley Elementary

All students will enroll in their school of residence. For those unsure of their school of residence, check the map or contact any elementary school for assistance. Students residing outside of SCSD2 should register at the school site nearest their home. Families may request a transfer to a different school during enrollment. Transfer decisions will be made in early June.

Why register now? Can I wait until fall? PreK seat availability is limited.  Attend enrollment to put your child in the best position to start on his/her SCSD2 Path to a Brighter Future! Once capacity is reached, additional applicants will be placed on a waitlist.

What do I bring to enrollment?

  • Your child and a legal parent/guardian!
  • Birth certificate
  • Court documentation of custody arrangements that differ from birth certificate, if applicable
  • Proof of address (utility, rent, mortgage, medical, or other bill that includes parent/guardian name & address)
  • Additional documentation will be required if applying for OMWPK or CCDF tuition assistance.

What if I cannot attend the enrollment night? Contact your building principal to schedule an enrollment appointment sometime before April 30, 2025.

TUITION

Because there is no state funding for PreK, our tuition of $150 per week is paid by parents in advance of each week. All parents are expected to apply for On My Way Pre-K and/or CCDF (federal programs providing tuition support for families. Find out more about each program by selecting the purple program name.) Tuition will only be charged to families who do not qualify for the federal programs. Families choosing not to apply for On My Way Pre-K or CCDF will be placed on a waitlist and will be enrolled in PreK in August if space is available. Initial tuition payments must be received by the end of your school registration in July.

FALL REGISTRATION

Families who have completed all enrollment tasks will receive summer communication of their official enrollment into the SCSD2 PreK program. Fully enrolled PreK students will participate in their building-based registrations in late July. Initial tuition payments will be required at that time. Information on registration dates and times will be communicated by building principals.
