SCSD2 is compliant with the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act and works with children and families that are experiencing homelessness. The goal of this federal act is to ensure that students experiencing homelessness have the same learning opportunities as those afforded housed students.

Homelessness is defined as lacking fixed, regular, and adequate housing. Homelessness takes many forms including
